4-DAY ORCHESTRATION WORKSHOP

From Blank Project To Final Orchestration

A Recorded Online Workshop To Improve Your Orchestrations With The MeHaryTe Framework

If you are feeling intimidated looking at a blank project file, or face issues when trying to turn a basic idea into a fully fledged orchestration – you are not alone.

What if you could follow a professional as he takes every step from the first idea, and methodically assembles an effective orchestration from scratch live on camera?

In the recorded version of Evenant’s first ever 4-Day Orchestration Workshop, Anže Rozman will take you through the entire process of going from blank project to a full orchestration using his MeHaRyTe method, setting up an effective template step by step, and creating multiple types of orchestrations from one single theme.

At the end of this workshop, you will have gained a new insight into how to streamline your journey from starting a new idea, to finishing the orchestration, and creating effective and idiomatic arrangements. You will learn tools that will help you more effortlessly turn any blank project file or simple idea into an effective orchestration with MIDI mockups.

You will also see how a professional like Anže goes about starting and finishing projects effectively on a deadline – imposed by the time limitation of the live calls the workshop was recorded from.

“From Blank Project To Final Orchestration” will give you hours of live recorded lectures to help you take your orchestration skills to the next level, and get more confident in your ability to get the most out of the orchestra.

Here’s the workshop outline:

  • Module 1: Setting Up Your Template
During this module, you will be able to follow along as Anže is setting up an entire orchestral template from scratch, explaining the libraries he is using, how to mix and balance your template, and using expression maps and key switches. He will also cover how to set up the settings for sample delay compensation to get the timings for your library right. At the end, we will have a full template ready for our orchestrations.

  • Module 2: From Piano Sketch To Full Orchestration. During this module, Anže will start by creating a piano sketch for an entire composition before he orchestrates the various A and B sections live on camera, step by step. You will learn about how to take a sketch and turn it into a string arrangement, composing themes and structuring compositions, as well as efficient orchestration workflows to write idiomatic and realistic mockups.

  • Module 3: 6 Orchestrations From One Sketch. In this module you will follow Anže as he creates 6 different orchestrations from one single piano sketch, utilizing winds, various articulations, brass instruments and strings, as well as some timpani to create a wide variety of textures and orchestrations.

  • Bonus Module: Feedback and Questions. These final modules contain questions from students that Anže answers, as well as giving feedback on some student submissions.
