Creating A Badass Drone – Trailer Sound Design

Alright boys and girls. You know what each trailer sound is made of. You’ve realized that the only way to get to the industry standard is to carefully layer sounds of different nature. Let’s dive in and see this in action as we look at the creation of a killer drone.

Drones are super versatile and can act as the foundation of the beginning of your trailer cue, it can be licensed alone by editors to open a trailer or advertisement, or it can be used as part of a sound pack or toolkit. Either way, they can add a ton of atmosphere, character and mood to any setting, and is a key technique to have in your arsenal of skills as a modern composer and sound designer.
