A lot of issues with the low end stem from a few common mistakes and errors that can wreak havoc on the entire mix. Learn how to identify and avoid these in order to tighten your low end.
Finding a low end system to stay consistent for each track
Instead of reinventing the wheel each time, learn a step by step process to ensure you get the low end right every time, instead of just winging it and hoping for the best.
Learn which elements to prioritize and which ones to cut
Not all drums need low end, and not all bass should carry the sub-frequency weight. If you try to make every low end element become the main focus, you will often end up with an overpowering or very muddy bass range – learn how to pick the right focus and support roles for your tracks to get a better result.

An industrious producer and mixer dedicated to making an impact on the world, Austin uses his distinctive vision to help musicians produce a fuller, more immersive sound experience. Austin was bitten by the music bug when his mother enrolled him in piano lessons at age four. As he grew, he discovered his love of technology and design while building rockets and watching airplanes take off with his father. It was only natural when the two worlds converged, and by the age of eleven, Austin began programming music in an early Digital Audio Workstation. He spent the next decade entrenched in his craft. After graduation, Austin moved from Dallas to Nashville to attend The Blackbird Academy. While a student at The Blackbird Academy, Austin enjoyed mentorship from some of the most outstanding audio engineers and producers in the world, such as Vance Powell, Dave Pensado, Andrew Scheps, and Jacquire King.

You can get started with very little! However, all of our courses require a computer and internet connection to access, and some software and/or hardware.
