Austin Seltzer – Workshop Instructor

Producers and engineers in the music industry are plentiful, but only a select few create a unique sound experience. The best share a deep understanding of sound technology and an equal yearning for creative experimentation. The very best also help clients from all genres and formats realize their individual vision while still realizing their own. With Austin Seltzer, you will find he is as rare as they come. An industrious producer and mixer dedicated to making an impact on the world, Austin uses his distinctive vision to help musicians produce a fuller, more immersive sound experience.

Austin was bitten by the music bug when his mother enrolled him in piano lessons at age four. As he grew, he discovered his love of technology and design while building rockets and watching airplanes take off with his father. It was only natural when the two worlds converged, and by the age of eleven, Austin began programming music in an early Digital Audio Workstation. He spent the next decade entrenched in his craft.

After graduation, Austin moved from Dallas to Nashville to attend The Blackbird Academy. While a student at The Blackbird Academy, Austin enjoyed mentorship from some of the most outstanding audio engineers and producers in the world, such as Vance Powell, Dave Pensado, Andrew Scheps, and Jacquire King.

After completing the program, Austin relocated to Los Angeles, where he continued honing his craft under some of the most prolific music engineers of the 21st century, working on projects ranging from indie artists to some of the biggest musical acts in the world in all genres. He soon began a freelance career as a trailer and television music composer placing many custom tracks before becoming a full-time composer, sound designer, music producer, and mixing and mastering engineer. His credits multiplied with over 1,000 mainstream tracks mixed for publishers, artists, and record labels, as well as hundreds of placements in major movie trailers, video game trailers, television shows, and promotional spots. By the time 2020 rolled around, he had worked on countless projects boasting billions of streams, millions of YouTube views, platinum certifications, and award-winning albums. The impact Austin has already made on the world at such a young age is remarkable.

Yet, with the launch of his new studio, Seltzer Sounds, his vision for the future is even fuller than the sound he produces. With 10+ years of professional audio training combined with his unparalleled approach to mixing music to establish a more immersive sound, Austin has positioned Seltzer Sounds as a medium to continue his work with clients and champion others in the music industry with professional knowledge and growth. He realizes the generosity he received as an up-and-coming engineer and vows to continue doing the same for the next generation. Austin has partnered with online instructing powerhouse, Evenant, to share his proprietary technique “M.A.S.T.E.R. the Mix,” which provides audio engineers a structured framework for mixing tracks at an elite level. In addition, he is working on a how-to book that will be available in 2022.

With other creative endeavors in the works, everything Austin touches has a global element meant to bring the entire artistic community together and enhance creativity. When he isn’t nose deep in his mixing rig, he is busy living abroad, learning from the art communities outside of the United States. This singular approach to breaking down conventional borders that exist in the world, and within art, only strengthens Austin’s idealism for his work and his future. As Seltzer Sounds becomes a visionary staple within the music community, its founder will continue to push technical boundaries to bring an immersive artistic experience to audiences across the global stage no matter what his creative endeavor.
