The Workshop Outline
Hour 1: Brainstorm Sketching
Adrian will walk you through his strategies for brainstorming ideas and coming up with intriguing concepts from scratch, exploring variations and discussing framing, storytelling, and world-building from a blank canvas.
Hours 2-3: Idea Development
Next, you’ll watch as the best idea is selected and developed further. You’ll learn about using lighting, composition, and color to develop and enhance your concept even further.
Hour 4: Student Feedback and Questions
On the final day, Adrian will be going over student submissions from the Feedback Pass (limited spots, see below!), giving feedback, and doing live paint-overs, as well as answering any remaining questions that you might have.

Adrian Virlan
Adrian is a Concept Artist based in Spain, working in the video game industry, with a background in environment and character design, and a realistic visual style. Adrian has worked on a variety of different projects and game titles, including HIVE: Altenum Wars at Catness Game Studios as a Lead Concept Artist, Sons of Dawn, with the Narrative Designer Kiko Blasco, and Arker: The Legend of Ohm from Arker Labs, in which he created high end illustrations in in-game content and promotional art, as well as environment pieces and keyframe paintings.
Frequently asked questions
How does lifetime access sound? After enrolling, you have unlimited access to this content for as long as you like – across any and all devices you own.
You can get started with very little! However, all of our courses require a computer and internet connection to access, and some software and/or hardware. For our Music courses, you'll need a DAW (like Ableton, Cubase, Logic, FL Studio or Studio One), and a computer powerful enough to handle these programs.
For our Design courses a drawing tablet is required. Anything beyond these basics is pretty much up to how much one wants to invest into the gear and software.
